This is the annual contract for the mechanical cleaning of catch basins in various locations in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake with the use of a vacuum truck.

Prices indicated in Part 1 of the Schedule of Quotation Unit Prices shall be held firm until December 31, 2026. Prices indicated in Part 2 of the Schedule of Quotation Unit Prices shall be held firm until December 31, 2027. Prices indicated in Part 3 of the Schedule of Quotation Unit Prices shall be held firm until December 31, 2028. Work is anticipated to begin in mid-May, and work within the downtown area shall be completed after the September Labour Day weekend

The successful contractor shall be responsible for documenting every catch basin inspection. The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake shall provide one (1) iPad for the purpose of inspection documentation. The iPad shall include a map of all catch basins scheduled for cleaning each year.

The successful contractor shall be required to answer several condition-related questions for each catch basin using prepopulated drop down fields. Once a catch basin has been cleaned, it shall be logged in the map as complete. If cleaning cannot occur due to an issue, it shall be logged in the map and Town staff shall be notified immediately.

The contractor shall also be required to take two (2) photographs of each catch basin, one (1) photograph prior to cleaning to document the buildup within the catch basin and one (1) photograph after cleaning to document the post-cleaning condition. These requirements shall be completed within the provided map.

The contractor shall be provided with training on how to use the map and enter information prior to commencing the work. It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to notify Town staff of any issues encountered with the map.
