The property at 176 Wellington Street, located at the northeast corner of Wellington and Picton Streets in Old Town, Niagara-on-the-Lake, has historically served as a hospital, nurse's residence, hospice, and medical offices. Since its acquisition by the Town in 2017, the site has been the subject of extensive community interest and multiple Council initiatives, including public engagement efforts and strategic planning. However, previous processes, including a Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI) in 2022, were concluded without achieving Council’s objectives. Building on this foundation, the Town now seeks innovative public engagement to reimagine the future of this site, ensuring meaningful input from the community and alignment with strategic goals.
